According to data from the Corcoran Group, New York City townhouse sales in the first half of 2020 were the slowest since 2009—not a surprise given that in-person showings were suspended and many potential buyers relocated out of the city. Once in-person showings resumed in June, however, sales increased 46% compared with the same period in 2019.
In another sign of growing interest, data from the real estate research firm UrbanDigs indicates that sales of townhouses in Manhattan and Brooklyn increased an average of 9.83% from February to April, compared with the three months before.
