Heaven Hill bourbon is a household name in Kentucky. Chances are you’ve had bourbon from the Bernheim Distillery even if it wasn’t branded as Heaven Hill. The Shapiros have owned and operated Heaven Hill since 1935. They are one of the few family-owned distilleries. Who is the largest bourbon distillery in America? That would be Heaven Hill. The fact that it’s privately owned makes this feat even more amazing.
Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond was the second whiskey released by the young distillery. It was first distilled in 1939. Heaven Hill was making its whiskey in Bardstown (DSP-KY-31) until 1996 when a fire destroyed the original distillery.
